Discerning the True Observer

There is so much beauty in observation that has no start, no beginning and no end.

Before anything starts, it is not.

When anything ends, it is not.

Before a word comes to be, it is not.

When it ends, it is not.

Before a sound comes to be, it is not.

When it ends, it is not.

Before a thought comes to be, it is not.

When it ends, it is not.

The actual beginning and the actual end are same in essence.

Between them there is the appearance, the experience, the recognition, the knowledge.

The beauty in observation is that it reveals that.

It reveals that before anything is there to watch it, it is not.

And when it ends, it is not.

And that in between is just a passing appearance, recognition.

Naturally, when this is seen very directly, simply, without any complication, any attempt to find in that some great wisdom,

then what is watching, what is observing?

The appearance between beginning and end?

or that which is not?
